Black Galoomn
Last of the Gloomny Pelicans. Ghost of an entire race. He envelops his prey with a dark aura where they imagine giant spider trap-doors or scaly scutes protruding murky waters. This paralyzing doom melts away at Galoomn, offering him a chance at rest. Unfortunately, he always resurfaces, a dreary mockery of the returning phoenix.
