Crocod'idols

A turtle with a leaf-shaped shell blends in with autumn leaves in a tree, and below, a three-eyed creature pops it’s snow-man-like head out of a winter landscape.
A small crocodile looks across a body of water to an island completely composed of ancient buildings and giant statues.
Marble temples stacked upon another almost obscure a gigantic white crocodile with scales that gleam like gold and gems. One building’s foundation has the word, “Crocod’idols” carved in it.

Incredible appearances result as creatures adapt to blend into their surroundings.

But on the magic Edificial Island, constructed and composed from seabed to sky with gleaming temples and colossal, jewel-encrusted statues, how did the crocodilians evolve to blend in?
